Alpine Meadow is a dramatic original Austrian oil painting depicting a wildflower-covered meadow beneath a sweeping, storm-filled Alpine sky. Signed by R. Rudolf Rieger (1877–1970), the work pairs the grandeur of a mountainous landscape with a wonderfully moody, atmospheric palette.

Deep greens and shadowed mountain forms anchor the lower landscape, while tiny white wildflowers scatter across the foreground. Above, layers of blue-gray, slate, cream, and smoky violet clouds dominate the composition, with a distant flash of light breaking through the storm.
